Miss C Scandal looming?

Oh, Oh. We were afraid this would happen. Apparently our reigning Miss C. did some less than discreet photo shoots a while back. This photo came over the transom the other day. I wonder if this means there are other, more incriminating photos out there. Thanks goodness we have a First Alternate.

Enroute back from South Dakota to golf with Murphy, Beardsley, Sumner and Mernaugh, we ran into weather "in all quadrants." Air Rino set it down in Pine Bluffs and we waited out some weather.

MVG: Has It Found A Permanent Home?

The most coveted award rests for the second year, with Mr. Hanson at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Though Rennich swept the rest of the awards this year, he covets this award most of all. Will it ever be his? Will he ever realize his dream? Will he always be the best golfer never to win MVG?

Last year's venue was Eisenhower at the Air Force Academy in C. Springs. Harley Rinerson won 3 of 4 Awards. It was a whupping, I tell you. Here, Rennich poses with the Miss C. trophy, a trophy nobody thought he would EVER win. Until today at Thorncreek.

Rino's Unbelievable Par

May 11, 2009:

Harley Rinerson made an unbelievable par today at Thorncreek.

On a par three, he his his tee shot into an "Environmentally Sensitive Area" just left of the green, hole high, but three feet behind a fence. Mindful of the sensitive area, he made scarcely a footprint in the hazard, treading with the lightness of a fairy. He was 25 feet from the cup, but through deep prairie grass, fescue, Buffalo grass and sedges, he hit a putter under the fence and up onto the green. He almost made birdie, and made an eight foot putt coming back for a miraculous par. This was the Shot of the Day for most of the round, but Rennich aced him out with the Body of Work Doctrine, after his second chip in and laser-like putting display.

Miss Congeniality Competition Was Brutal.

Tom Devine and Mick Rennich were the finalists for Miss Congeniality 2009 today at Thorncreek. Devine was the early favorite, by presenting hospitality gifts to all contestants--a very impressive, useful picnic basket. But Rennich moved up quickly, picking up the greens fee tab for all contestants, and presenting 50 golf balls to each of the contestants. People who know Mick well will be surprised by this win, but buying Miss C. enjoys a long and rich tradition.

In the aftermath of the Miss California controversy this year, it was decided that we should designate a First Alternate Miss Congeniality, and Devine easily won this distinction. Should Rennich be unable, for any reason, to discharge his obligation as Miss C before the next get-together, Devine will be called upon to serve.

2009 Winner. MickSlam

Here's your Spring, 20009 Small Slam Winner: Mick Rennich.

He chipped in twice, including from sixty feet on the 18th green to tie Hanson for Medalist Honors. His 18th hole heroics earned him Shot of the Day Honors. It was his second chip-in of the day and his putting was the envy of his peers.

The Class of 1971 Watertown (South Dakota) High School Alumni Tournament took place today at Thorncreek. Mick Rennich of Louisville made off with the Small MickSlam, winning Longest Putt, Shot of the Day, and Miss Congeniality. Only the Most Valuable Golfer accolade eluded The Mickster today at Thorncreek. That award went to the wily Mark Hanson of Fort Collins, who won chits, tied for skins with Harley "Rino"Rinerson, and tied the Mickster for Medalist. Tom Devine of Morrison was recognized as First Alternate Miss Congeniality, in the event that nude photos of Rennich somehow appear on the internet or elsewhere.
