New Game--Sixes are Wild.

Brother Rinerson brought some new ideas to the game this year--The portable putting green for that golfer whose short game could use a little work was awarded this year. Also Rinerson brought Sixes Are Wild. Everybody has to use a six iron on hole Number Six, tee to green.

This year's level of play being what it was, the scores were remarkably the same with the six iron as with the drivers off the tee. Next time, maybe we should play the six iron throughout the round.

A couple of nice additions to the game this year.

Next Fall, we're hoping that some of the Slackers from the Class of 1970 might be able to join us.

Awards Presentation

Here are your big winners--Devine (Shot of the Day), Rennich (Most Valuable Golfer) and Rinerson ( Longest Putt.) Devine also won the putting practice green, new this year.

The Crew

Results--Marianna Butte, September 10, 2009.

The group met at The 'Butte in Loveland for a 12:04 tee time. Spirits were high and so were the scores as it turned out.

Photos and more details will follow, but here's the down and dirty:

Shot of the Day: Tom Devine hit to within two inches of the cup with his wedge from 60 yards out on Number Twelve. He used his 56 degree Cleveland.

Longest Putt: Harley holed a 16 foot, 3 incher on Number Eight for par. He got the purple putter for the year.

MVG: Rennich finally took home this coveted award. He got the most chits, the most pars and posted the low round.

Miss Congeniality: Hanson packed up the Miss C trophy in his stylish Manbag for an unbelievably generous act of ferrying three golf clubs to the foursome ahead of us, that had been left on the tee box. This act of generosity was done with no thought of Miss C. recognition. Hanson was visibly moved by receiving this award, as photographs to be posted later will attest.

You are invited to post comments, observations, opinions, objections--more details and photos to follow.
